COMMUNITY OF POINT RICHMOND TO HOLD ANNUAL “PICNIC IN THE POINT” TO BENEFIT WASHINGTON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Afternoon Festival on Saturday, October 20th to Feature Live Music, Arts, Food and Drink,

Games for Kids and Adults, Fire Truck, Dunk Tank, Face-painting, and more!

The historic neighborhood of Point Richmond will hold its fourth annual “Picnic in the Point” on Saturday, September 28th. The event will feature live music by local bands, games for kids and adults, food and drinks, face-painting, and other activities for people of all ages and interests. All proceeds will help fund enrichment programming at Washington Elementary School in Point Richmond, a low-income-serving, Spanish emersion elementary school in the West Contra Costa Unified School District. The event takes place from 12:00pm to 5:00pm at Judge George Carroll Park located at the corner of Cutting Blvd and Garrard, just off the 580 freeway, across from the Richmond Plunge.

“Picnic in the Point” is a collaborative effort by the Point Richmond Business Association, Washington School PTA, Point Richmond Music, and PRAM (Parents Resources and More). General admission is free and tickets will be sold for the purchase of games, food, and drink. Advance tickets are available for purchase at the Up and Under Pub, located at 2 West Richmond Avenue in Point Richmond, up to the day before the event. Twenty dollars in advance ticket purchases will offer a $30 value in tickets for food, beverages and games.
